The Elitewheels Drive G45 SS is a fast gravel wheelset built around a 45 mm carbon rim and Sapim CX Ray steel spokes.
With a 24 mm internal width, 31 mm external width and a weight of 1,370 ± 30 g per pair, it is designed for riders who want one wheelset for fast gravel, all road riding and mixed surface days.

Why the G45 SS?
The G45 SS combines a deeper carbon rim with widely available, replaceable steel spokes.
For NWHBIKES, that is a useful combination. You get a wheel designed for speed without making future spoke replacement or workshop servicing unnecessarily complicated.
The 24 mm internal rim width also gives the wheel enough versatility for everything from fast 28C road tyres through to much larger gravel tyres.
Aerodynamics for fast gravel
A 45 mm rim is relatively deep for a gravel wheel, which gives the G45 SS an aerodynamic advantage on faster gravel roads, sealed road sections and long open stretches where speed is higher.
The 31 mm external width and bladed Sapim CX Ray spokes are designed to help reduce aerodynamic drag while maintaining the tyre support needed for wider gravel setups.
Elitewheels does not publish a specific watt saving for the G45 SS, so we do not quote one.
Sapim CX Ray steel spokes
The G45 SS uses Sapim CX Ray steel spokes, with 20 front and 24 rear.
CX Ray spokes use a bladed profile designed for aerodynamic efficiency while remaining individually replaceable and widely serviceable.
The wheels use Sapim Secure Lock nipples, another sensible choice for long term maintenance.
Ceramic bearings and 4 pawl freehub
The current G45 SS specification uses ceramic bearings and a 4 pawl freehub mechanism.
Freehub options include Shimano HG and SRAM XDR.

Tyre choice
Elitewheels lists compatibility from 28C to 65C, with 28C to 40C as the recommended range.
That gives the G45 SS plenty of flexibility for fast gravel setups, wider all road tyres or road focused use depending on the bike and terrain.
